2016 Red Mountain Mourvedre
94% mourvedre and 6% grenache. This mourvedre comes from Heart of the Hill vineyard in Red Mountain and shows off powerful blue / black fruit and spice.
Production notes
The wine was made by gently crushing and de-stemming the clusters directly into bins without the use of a must pump. Approximately lO% of the grapes were fermented as whole clusters. Fermentation was completed using commercial yeasts and then the wine was pressed into 3-5 year old French 225L barrels where ML took place. The wine was aged for approximately 2O months before bottling. No fining took place and the wine was filtered through a coarse pad to remove the lees.
